If you haven't guessed already, the Japanese writing says 'Anime Sekai'.

Since I used Japanese writing, I wrote it the traditional way. Words and letters go top to bottom and right to left. The Japanese have two alphabets and kanji. People are most familiar with the 'kanji' or ideograms. Most kanji express 'ideas' as opposed to simple letters like western languages. The two phonetic alphabets are hiragana and katakana; collectively know as the 'kana'. An easy way to describe the difference is hirigana is used for native words, and katakana for foreign words. The writing on the right is in katakana (a-ni-me). The writing on the left is in kanji (se-kai).
